Standing while riding is great fun, but when you need to relax, Razor E300S electric scooter with a seat has got your back. The Razor E300 is the strong, larger and upgraded version of already existing Razor E100 and Razor E200. A nice smooth amply spacious large deck, strong, sturdy steel frame, and 10” pneumatic tires make this scooter looks like a serious transportation device. The beautifully painted and manicured steel frame looks amazingly good and feels sturdy without being too heavy.

Considering the design, we won’t say that Razor E300 electric scooter is a treat to beholder’s eyes but seriously, with this price it’s really unfair to expect the same attention to minor detail as other scooters, so it’s fine that wires for the brakes are little loose and visibly hang down outside of the frame with plastic clips which barely hold them in place. Its Simplicity wins my heart, It’s not stylish; functional, definitely not fashionable; that’s what Razor is all about. If you need something peppy and good looking, take a look at some other brand.

Power & Range

It features a high torque, chain-driven, electric motor that can travel to 15 mph, controlled by the twist grip throttle. While this motor provides plenty of power for you to swiftly zip around on the flat, climbing hills is a struggle for this scooter. Considering that the E300 is designed for riders under 220 lbs, if you are an adult you probably weigh more, so don’t even think about going up an incline. The range on a full charge is between 7 and 8 miles, which is just enough for a quick trip to a grocery store, or a fun ride around the neighborhood.

Battery & Charging

The Razor E300 electric scooter battery system consists of two 12v sealed lead acid rechargeable batteries, and it might take be the immediate reason how Razor managed to keep the price of E300 so reasonable, at any given point of time, with new innovation, investing in a good Lithium battery is definitely a very good idea. These batteries will give you only about 40 minutes to an hour of riding time, and after that, it takes 10-12 hours of charging for the battery to be fully charged and ready to ride again. However, one important thing which is missing here is the speedometer and battery bank reflector; it could have been really better if Razor could put up an indicator that tells you the remaining battery and the current speed. The battery is removable and you can easily change the battery of razor e300.

Assembly required

Just take it out of the box, and it’s easily manageable to assemble it with the help of basic tools to tighten the nuts and bolts. Honestly, we managed to assemble it in 5 minutes. Just screw the steering column in as the final step and room, you are good to go. It’s fast; it’s quiet, it has anything and everything a scooter rider could wish for. How I only wish it came equipped with at least a reflective tape for safety.

Or Led lights could have done a better job. Small additions I would suggest are a strip of LED lights and a bell, if not horn!! Overall, Setting it up and installation and assembling was really easy and figuring out how it works very intuitive.

Storing and Everyday care

The user manual that comes inside the box of scooter clearly says not to store it in temperature below freezing point, so leaving your machine alone in the garage all out in winter is absolutely out of the question and a really bad idea. Rider! Keep that in mind. In fact, it’s important to find a place to put your scooter before it arrives; it should be kept in a dry place where it won’t be affected by humid or damp weather conditions since those could damage the battery life and circuiting.

• Make sure you have not left it to charge throughout the night, you would end up destroying batteries.
• Also, Make sure you don’t leave it turned ON, when not in use.

Another thing to like about the Razor E300 is its amazing price tag, which is very affordable and easy on the wallet for most consumers. The E300 features a very comfortable and spacious deck which can bear a maximum weight of 220 pounds. • It is capable of reaching high speeds: With speeds up to 15mph, wider tires, and steely-grey structure profile, your ride just got way more interesting and thrilling. Yay for saving on energy!
• The powerful motor and power supply from lithium-ion batteries and not to forget the strong steel structure allows Razor E300 electric scooter to perform well even in rough and treacherous terrains.

CONS

• First and the worst thing about Razor E300 is that it takes a really long time to charge. The charge time recommended for this Razor electric scooter is about 10-12 hours for a 45 minutes ride. The problem is that you always have to carry its charger around and of course, have to work hard on finding a charging point too. Risk is that what if you couldn’t find a charging point. Though manufacturers are working with the government on battery swap plans, we are not sure how much time it will take.
• The scooter has a limited range of 40- 45 minutes. After that either you better have a charger with an electric charging point or be prepared.
• Like we mentioned earlier, it’s really bad that the Razor E300 has neither a battery charge indicator nor a speedometer. So you don’t get to know how much battery is left, you can’t calculate how far you can go with leftover battery life or when do you need to charge. It’s just that you have used it, so you need to put it back on charging as soon as you get access to the charging point.
• Razor E300 electric scooter is louder than other models. It just can’t operate powerfully without creating a loud and annoying noise with attracting other’s attention too. So, In total, I liked the large-sized deck and Pneumatic tires and that it is very reasonably priced and what I didn’t are the SLA batteries which charge at a very slow pace and lack of battery indicator and speedometer.  

Alternative Product – Razor E300S Seated Electric Scooter

If you are looking for another scooter that you can use during your quick trips around your neighborhood, we can fully recommend the Razor E300S seated Electric Scooter. The amazing thing about it is that the seat is, of course, detachable, and you can ride the Razor E300S Scooter for up to 40 minutes of continuous riding before recharging. It’s recommended for kids above 12 years of age.

I really like this scooter, especially for the price, speed and design.
The scooter has big tires so I figured it might work on some dirt roads in the desert that the skinny tire scooters would not. But this scooter has no climbing ability, so we will see if it works out. This scooter is small enough that it actually fits well in my small van RV where space is precious

It can travel more the 10 miles and up to 15 mph and more, with some riders, depending on the duration of charge. 15mph is no way less speed or a child play.
